What is the project about?
The OpenReception project aims to develop an end-to-end encrypted booking platform for doctor's appointments. The focus is on protecting sensitive health data that is exchanged when booking appointments online. Unlike existing solutions, where central providers have access to patient data, OpenReception aims to encrypt data so that only the patients concerned and the treating professionals can view it. OpenReception wants to offer a secure alternative to existing portals, which often store unencrypted data and can analyze it. Decentralizing the data also reduces the risk of large data leaks.
Which audience does the project address?
OpenReception is aimed at medical practices and facilities that want to offer online appointments to reduce the workload of their staff and optimize processes without compromising data protection. Indirectly, the project also benefits all patients who will benefit from better protection of their sensitive health data.
What is to be achieved?
The goal is to create an fullstack application in the Node.js Stack. This includes a dashboard for medical practices and a booking page where patients can schedule appointments. As a Docker image, it should be easy and inexpensive to operate.
